Privacy Policy

ForPrintOn ("we", "us") provides print-on-demand production and a Shopify integration app that connects a merchant's Shopify store to our production system. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the choices available to merchants and their customers.

This policy covers both:

  • visitors to forprinton.com, and
  • data processed through the ForPrintOn Shopify app installed on a merchant's store.

For data we process on behalf of a Shopify merchant, the merchant is the data controller and ForPrintOn acts as a data processor / service provider.

1. Information we collect

From merchants who install the app

  • Store details: store name, myshopify.com domain, store email, country, currency, plan.
  • Shopify API access tokens (stored encrypted) needed to sync data.

From a merchant's store, to provide the integration (the merchant's customers' data)

  • Order data — order number, financial and fulfillment status, totals, line items, and shipping address.
  • Customer data — name, email address, phone number, marketing-consent flag, and Shopify customer ID.
  • Product/catalog data — products and variants (no personal data).

We request access to the last 60 days of order history only (not the full order archive).

From forprinton.com visitors

When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so we can respond to your inquiry. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site.

2. How we use the data

We use the data solely to provide the service:

  • Sync orders, customers, and products from Shopify into the ForPrintOn production system so items can be produced and fulfilled.
  • Write fulfillment, tracking, order tags, and inventory updates back to Shopify.
  • Show merchants a dashboard of their sync and production status.
  • Provide support and meet legal/tax obligations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. How we share data

  • Between the merchant's Shopify store and ForPrintOn's systems — that is the core function of the app.
  • With infrastructure providers that host our systems (sub-processors), under contract.
  • When required by law.

4. How we protect data

  • Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).
  • All data in transit is encrypted with TLS/HTTPS.
  • Data is stored in a private database not publicly accessible.
  • Access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel and is logged, with personal fields redacted from application logs.

5. Data retention

  • Order records are retained for up to 7 years to meet accounting and tax requirements, then removed or anonymized.
  • On a deletion request (see below), customer personal data is pseudonymized / anonymized rather than kept.
  • When a merchant uninstalls the app, syncing stops and the store is marked uninstalled; data is handled per the retention rules above.

6. Your rights & GDPR / data requests

The app supports Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

  • Customer data request — a merchant can request the data we hold about a customer.
  • Customer redaction— on request, we pseudonymize/anonymize that customer's personal data.
  • Shop redaction — when a store is removed, its data is redacted per retention rules.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Customers should contact the merchant (store owner) they purchased from, as the merchant is the controller. You may also contact us directly at the address below.

7. International transfers

Our systems are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual data-protection commitments with our hosting providers, and we ensure data is protected to the standards described in this policy regardless of where it is processed.

8. Children's privacy

The service is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; we'll revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify merchants.
